CII Qualifications Requirements

The Chartered Insurance Institute requires completion of examinations, each with assigned credits (points), in order to qualify for their general insurance designations.  For each of the qualification levels, certain mandatory subjects must also be completed.  Below are details relating to qualifying for the various CII insurance designations.

Certificate In Insurance (CERT.)

  • Accumulation of 40 credits

  • Completion of IF1 (compulsory subject)


Diploma In Insurance (DIP.)

  • Accumulation of 120 credits

    • with 90 of these credits from Diploma or ACII subjects.
  • Completion of P92 and P05 (compulsory subjects)


Advanced Diploma In Insurance (ACII)

  • Accumulation of 290 credits

    • with 90 of these credits from ACII subjects and

    • at least 205 from Diploma or ACII subjects.

  • Completion of P92 and P05 (compulsory subjects)
